Josephine M. Bonini (nee Mattio). Beloved wife of the late Bruno Bonini. Devoted mother of Linda Bonini (Jim Adams), Aleta Bonini (Jeff Creamer) and Carol Bonini (Rob) Armstrong. Loving grandmother of Jacob (Theresa), Daniel (Eloisa) and Rebecca Adams, Colin, Joel and Keith Armstrong, Petra and Aurora Creamer. Dear sister of Anne Plowcha. Josephine is also survived by many loving cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews. Josephine is preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Mattio, Dominica Lichota and Joann Mayausky. Jo was proud of her heritage as a first generation Italian-American, and forever grateful to her parents for allowing her and her family to prosper in the United States. Jo was born in Homer City, PA, the daughter of a coal miner, and with her husband, Bruno, they eventually found their way to Cincinnati where he worked for GE. Jo was an active person in the community, where she has made many dear friends over the past 55 years as a helpful neighbor, concerned volunteer, devoted Catholic, and regular participant in many exercise activities. Jo loved to travel, and visited much of the United States and many other countries. With an invigorating zest for life, an inner strength that was an inspiration to all of her family and friends, and an admirable generosity and love for her family, Jo will be sorely missed as a mother, grandmother and dear friend. Departed on October 25, 2013 at the age of 89. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 30 from 4 to 7 pm at Gilligan Funeral Home, 8225 Montgomery Rd. More visitation time will be held Thursday, October 31 from 9 am at the funeral home until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at All Saints Catholic Church, 8939 Montgomery Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to All Saints Catholic Parish.
