Joseph Grafemeyer, loved family, golf and Bengals The Cincinnati Post Wednesday, October 12, 2005 Joseph Donald Grafemeyer's passion for golf began when he was a teenager working as a caddy at several local courses. 'He couldn't wait for the weekends to arrive so he could mingle with the golfers and learn their techniques,' said a sister, Agnes Rahman. 'He was offered a golfing scholarship and later competed in several tournaments on the local level.' Mr. Grafemeyer, of Delhi Township, died Monday. He was 60. He was a self-employed courier and an Army veteran of the Vietnam era. Mr. Grafemeyer's other great loves were the Bengals and his family, said his sister. He followed the Bengals to Miami, Fla., in 1988, when they lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl. 'Whether it was going to family outings or vacations, his greatest love was for his family,' Rahman said. Mr. Grafemeyer was the nephew of Monsignor Francis Kennedy and often accompanied him to concerts at Music Hall, his sister said. Other survivors include his wife, Frances; a son, Erich; and a daughter, Noelle. Mass of Christian burial will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday at St. William Church, Price Hill. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Monsignor Francis Kennedy Scholarship Fund for St. William School, 4108 W.
