Joseph A. Blinn

It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph A. Blinn of Cincinnati announce his passing on Friday, December 5th, 2025 at the age of 79. He was surrounded by the love of his family at his side as he took his final breath.

Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Nancy; children, Scott Blinn (Roxanne), Lori Rood (Michael) and Brian Blinn (Annie); 10 grandchildren, Jackson, Patrick, Meagan, Kevin, Kelley, Avery, Taylor, Brooks, Bryce and Parker; 2 sisters, Virginia Wells and Dorothy Blinn; sister-in-law, Patty Hadersbeck; brother-in-law, Patrick Leslie; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends as well as his 3 cats, Bella, Milo and Kody, who in true Joe fashion, were loved like they were his own children.

Joe was predeceased by his parents, Joe and Ann Blinn, In-laws, Henry and Dorothy Hadersbeck and brother-in-law, Ken Hadersbeck.

Joe was born on October 30, 1946 in Methuen, MA. He spent his early childhood years growing up in Yuma, AZ. Later his family moved to San Diego, CA when he was in Junior High. He was a proud graduate of the Class of ’64 at St. Augustine High School in San Diego. He went on to attend Mesa College and San Diego State University after which he served 4 years in the United States Air Force. He worked for Bank of America for 14 years in Business Services in San Diego and various cities throughout California returning once again to San Diego as a Vice President and Manager of 4 North County branches. He also worked in the payroll industry for many years with Paychex, Inc., Payroll People, Inc.. and Benefit Mall as managers in San Diego, Cincinnati, OH and Fresno, CA. After retirement, Joe and Nancy decided to take one more adventure and move from their home in Clovis, CA back to Cincinnati in 2023 to be closer to family who live there as well as family members who had relocated east.

Joe was a big energy that never knew a stranger. He always found the good in people and people saw the good in him. Once a friend, always a friend! Joe lives on through his family and everyone who knew him because a man like Joe Blinn led by example, loved wholeheartedly and made the absolute most of the life with which he was blessed. He loved hard and it was easy to love him back. He loved to laugh. He was always good for a joke or did what it took to put a smile on your face which was just one of his many gifts. He always had a positive attitude and brightly lit up every room he entered.

Sports…Joe was a huge sports fan to the end. He could not get enough college football. It did not matter which teams, he just loved the game. He did have a handful of favorites though! His favorite athletes were his grandkids. He attended as many games, events, and dance recitals as he possibly could and always looked forward to the next ones.

Our hearts break for everyone who loved Joe. He will be truly missed and always remembered as a man of integrity, a cherished and loyal friend and most importantly as a man who dedicated his life to being the best husband, father and grandfather he could possibly be. Joe and Nancy celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on December 2nd and had a blessed life together and a legacy that will live on in the hearts of their children and grandchildren forever. Fly High, Joey! We will love you forever!
