John H. Leesemann

John H. Leesemann, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, at the age of 83.

Born on January 17, 1943, a faithful Catholic, John lived a life defined by family, service, and friendship. He was the devoted husband of Genevieve for 47 years and a loving father to his children, Paul T. Leesemann, Mary E. (Beth) Leesemann Araujo, and son-in-law, Juan A. Araujo. He was a proud grandfather of Juan Maximo Araujo and Genevieve Mercedes Araujo who brought joy to his life.

John graduated from Deer Park High School, attended University of Cincinnati, and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Reserve. During his military service, he built a distinguished 46-year career in sales with Steelcraft/LaForce. Throughout the Cincinnati Tri-State area many buildings and institutions stand as a testament to the projects he helped bring to life through his professionalism and expertise.

The cornerstones of John's life were his family, faith, and friends. He found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved. Whether celebrating life's milestones or helping navigate its challenges, John was always present with encouragement, wisdom, and unwavering support.

Known for his warmth, humor and genuine kindness, John had a remarkable ability to connect with people. He never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. He was an avid fan of Cincinnati sports and the Ohio State Buckeyes, a devoted dog lover, hunter, fisherman, and someone who treasured the friendships he cultivated throughout his life.

John's legacy is one of love, loyalty, and service. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gilligan Funeral Home, 8225 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45236.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 944 US-22, Morrow, Ohio 45152, followed by internment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery and a reception at Bel-Wood Country Club in Morrow, Ohio.
