John W. Kilcoyne, a respected Cincinnati attorney died Saturday, January 6, at the Marjorie P. Lee home, at the age of 98. John attended St. Xavier High School, Xavier University, and the University of Cincinnati, College of Law. His early law career was interrupted by World War II. He enlisted in the Army as a private and, after serving as a Link Trainer in the Army Air Division, he was transferred to the Judge Advocate General Corps. Upon the retirement of his last remaining partner, William B. O'Neal, in 1998, he joined Cohen, Todd, Kite & Stanford, LLC, where his son was a partner. He continued his active practice in the areas of estate planning, tax, probate, and business law until health matters stopped him at the age of 95. Even after he stopped going in to the office, he kept in contact with his clients and stayed current on legal matters. John married Lila Lee in 1950 and stayed in devoted and strong love until her death in 2003. John's son, Tom, and his wife, Tara, have two children, Rose and Patrick, ages 6 and 8.
