John 'Jack' J. O'Brien Jr., beloved husband of Kay O'Brien (nee Schulte-Conroy) and the late Rosalie O'Brien (nee Fatsy), cherished father of John J. (Laurie) O'Brien III and the late Teresa L. O'Brien, devoted grandfather of Kaysie, Sean and Kellie O'Brien, dear step-father of Catherine (Jay) and Craig Schulte, loving brother of Thomas (Betty) O'Brien, James (Barbara) O'Brien and Mary (Thomas) Wahl, son of the late John J. and Margaret (nee Hansberry) O'Brien. "Uncle Jack" to many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. Jack leaves behind a host of close friends with particular mention of the Purcell class of '56. Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at the age of 68 years. Jack, a former Cincinnati Police officer, retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1991. He also retired from the Army Reserve with over 20 years of service. Jack was an active volunteer including the Cincinnati Museum Center and the Historical Society. Jack was a past president of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and Fourth Degree, Knights of Columbus. Visitation 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Gilligan Funeral Home, 8225 Montgomery Rd. at Galbraith.
