John P. Isakson

John P. Isakson, 87, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born in New York City, New York, to the late Kurt and Paula Isakson.

John graduated from Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood, NJ in 1957 and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in English from Pennsylvania Military College (now Widener College) in Philadelphia in 1961. He spent much of his professional life building a successful career in pharmaceutical sales.

John married Stephanie Collison in Philadelphia in 1961. Together, John and Stephanie shared 58 wonderful years of marriage. Stephanie preceded John in death in 2019.

John was a man who found joy in golf, tennis, and spending time with his neighbors. He especially enjoyed raising and showing Collies with Stephanie and golfing with his 2 grandsons, and he will be remembered by those who knew him for his story-telling, generosity, and humor. Above all, John treasured his family and the time they shared together.

John also proudly served his country in the United States Army Special Forces during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Major. His military service reflected the same dedication and commitment that he carried throughout his life.

John will be deeply missed by his son Paul and his wife Cathy, and their two sons Matthew and Jacob. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, Stephanie, John was preceded in death by his brother Julius Isakson.

Per John’s wishes, cremation will take place, and he will be reunited with his beloved wife, Stephanie, at South Florida National Cemetery. A celebration of his life will be held in Florida in November.
