John P. (Paul) Geers, beloved husband of Rosemary Cox Greers for 58 years. Died August 30, 2006. Age 88. A lifelong Cincinnatian, Mr. Geers graduated from St. Xavier High School and Xavier University, served with the U.S. Army in World War II in the Aleutian Islands and in Europe, was a salesman for Pabst Bedding Co. Retired from the U.S. Army Reserve as a lieutenant colonel. Cherished father of Paula (John) McIntosh, Mark (Anne), Alice, Dan (MaLissa), Connie Nicolas and Andrew. Dear grandfather of Francie, Emily, Paul and Cecilia Geers, Lauren Geers (Dan) Kelley, Greg, Mark and Cara Nicolas, and Alex McIntosh. Loyal brother of Jean O'Leary, Betty Ann Kelly and Corinne (Bob) Bollman. Sadly missed by Ruth and Jim Heider. Survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Appreciated by all who knew him for his wit and gentleness and his passion for books and learning. Mass of Christian Burial, St. John the Evangelist Church, 7121 Plainfield Road, Deer Park at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 4. Visitation at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m. Gilligan Funeral Home, Kenwood, in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be made to the Home Program at St. Francis de Sales Church, Walnut Hills, or to Tender Mercies.
