Joan F. Potts

Joan F. Potts, born Marion Joan Fangman, passed away peacefully on the morning of April 13th, 2026, at the age of 89. Joan was born June 23th, 1936, the beloved daughter of Paul Fangman and Edna Burgoyne Fangman.

Joan lived her life with an elegant selfless strength — happily working through two careers until the age of 83. At home, she spent her life keeping her loved ones well fed and as she would say “looking sharp.” Whether picking an outfit that fit you just right or setting a beautiful table for a home cooked meal, Joan made sure those around her felt both special and loved. Forever the consummate hostess — be it her holiday decorations, a fully stocked bar, or a table of everyone’s favorite hors d’oeuveres — she made it look effortless with a smile and a wink. Not a napkin, stitch, or hair was ever out of place on or near Joan Potts.

In short — Joan was one classy lady.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Cheri Potts; grandchildren, Jake (Ansley) and Jesse (Emma); great-grandson, Rory; and a cherished great-grandson expected to arrive soon. She is also survived by her sister, Teri, and brothers, Barry and Mark. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her son, Jeff; and her brother, Denny.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Savior Parish in Deer Park, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.
