CINCINNATI – Joan M. Barker peacefully passed to eternal life on Feb 26, 2025, age 91. She was a devoted wife of 58 years to the late James Barker (d'cd 2016), loving mother of Elizabeth (Frank) Geiser, Amy Dillman, Jenny (Michael) Lenzner, Tom (Kathy) Barker, and 'Mam' to 5 grandchildren - David (Anna) and Sarah Dillman, Eddie Geiser, Charlie and Claire Barker; and 4 great grandchildren - Leslie, James, Owen and Christopher Dillman. Survived by and beloved of many nieces and nephews. She was the loving daughter of Roy and Noma (nee Pelstring) Bernard.  

  Joan was a graduate of Regina High School then earned a Fine Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati. She had a full and well lived life of marriage and family. She was devoted to the Catholic faith and a loving, caring, and generous person. She enjoyed time with family and friends, playing cards, traveling, and spending time at Lake Charlevoix, Michigan, and Captiva Island, Florida.  

  The family expresses their gratitude to the staff at Twin Lakes and her private duty aides for the compassionate and devoted care over the past several years.  

  Visitation Friday, March 7, 2025, at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 7754 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45236, from 9:30 to 10:30am, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial suggestions are Hospice of Cincinnati (P.O. Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH 45263-3597) or the Twin Lakes Benevolent Care fund (9840 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45242).
