Jennifer Jane (Xenia) Malatesta, beloved wife and mother of two, died July, 1, 2019 from natural causes.Jennifer was born June 5, 1970 to David and Jane Mack. At the age of two she was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a debilitating neuromuscular illness. Raised and cared for by two loving parents, Jennifer surprised everyone by surviving childhood, hours long invasive surgeries, college, depression, bi-polar disorder, and 28 years of marriage.Graduating from Wright State University summa cum laude with Honors on a full scholarship, Jennifer was a published author in the realm of both fiction and non-fiction. A short story of hers won the annual short story contest in Dream Weaver in 1998. Her non-fiction essay "Relationship Realism" was published in the collection of experiences of people with disabilities, "Reflections from a Different Journey".Jennifer was active in the Supernatural (SPN) community, frequently volunteering at fan conventions throughout the mid-Atlantic. She spent much of her time and resources in the last months of her life to help the North Bethesda Village get up off the ground.Jennifer is survived by her husband Lee, daughters Emili and Ravyn, son-in-law Wes, father, and two brothers and their families. And her Go-F**k-Yourself kitten poster.Visitation Friday, July 5 from 6 pm until Funeral Service at 7 pm at Christ the Savior - Holy Spirit Orthodox Church, 7285 Ashland Ave., Norwood OH 45212. Divine Liturgy Friday at 9:30 am.
