Jean Clott Schroder, treasured wife of the late Louis E. Schroder, loving mother of Louis Jr. (Christine) Schroder, Sara Schroder, Mary Frances (Richard) Balch, Mary Susan (Eugene) Lugowski, Mark (Mary) Schroder, Anne (Scott) Gilligan, John (Mamie) Schroder and the late Constance (Peter Eastman) Schroder, dear sister of Richard Clott and the late Mary Ruth Myers, cherished "Oma" of 19 grandchildren. Jean had "joie de vivre" that attracted many friends both young and old. Refreshingly honest, she enjoyed sharing her views. An avid reader, Scrabble aficionado and crossword puzzler, she was a lover of words. Departed Friday, December 19, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. on Monday, December 22 at the Gilligan Funeral Home, 2926 Woodburn at Lincoln. Mass of Christian Burial 10 A.M. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hyde Park.
