Jay Nels Blount, age 75, passed away peacefully on October 22. Most recently of Montgomery, OH, he was born in Huntington Park, CA and spent the majority of his life in California including Ross, San Leandro, Sacramento and Modesto (his home of nearly 30 years). He also lived in France during his proud service in the Army and in New Jersey while working as an executive for Lipton Tea. A marketing job at E & J Gallo Winery brought Jay to Modesto and after a stint there, he sold real estate and founded USA Realty. In his "retirement," he drove a school bus and was a driving instructor. While he was a passionate and dedicated student of golf as a long-time member of Del Rio Country Club, his priority was always his family. Jay is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marianne (Ginochio), his daughter, Janel Carroll, and son and daughter-in-law, Jay T. Blount and Kate English. His lasting legacies are his beloved grandchildren: Jay Carroll, Mary Carroll, John Blount and Michael Blount. Jay is also survived by his sister, Diane Moore of Azusa, CA and numerous nieces. He will be missed by countless dear friends, his poker group, the Bristol Lane gang, the many students whom he taught to drive and bussed to school and his colleagues at Loveland City Schools Dept. of Transportation. At his request, no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be directed to ArtWorks, 20 E. Central Parkway #1, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
