Janet M. Tappel's Obituary
Janet Bokel Tappel, 82, of Cincinnati, OH, died March 29, 2017. Loving wife of Edward Francis Tappel for 62 years. A nurse and cancer survivor, she passed away peacefully in her home after a long battle with heart disease. Mother of Edward Jr. (Mary); John (Kathy); James (Mary); Richard (Janice); Daniel (deceased), wife Lauren; Janet (John Dorger); and Mary (Matt Dierker). Jan had 22 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Daughter of John and Arline Bokel, born on Dec. 2nd, 1934, in St. Louis, MO. Sister of John Bokel and Marjorie Patten. A lifelong baseball fan, Jan has resided in Cincinnati for the last 44 years cheering for the Redlegs. Visitation will be at All Saints Catholic Church, Mon., April 3rd, beginning at 9:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. (fittingly, on Opening Day!) In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or to Hoxworth Blood Center.
