IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janet S.
Schneider
November 5, 1938 – September 26, 2024
Janet S. Schneider (nee Heitkamp), devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on September 26, 2024, after a brief illness. She was 85.
Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Kenneth J. Schneider. Janet and Ken met when they were 15 and 16 years old. They formed the ultimate partnership with the sole goal of providing every opportunity for their three daughters, Amy (Jim) Hubbard, Beth (Rick) Naylor, and Emily Schneider Thompson.
Everything they worked for and accomplished in life was to benefit their children and nine grandchildren Jake (Patty) Hubbard, Madison Hubbard (Tony Guiffre), Sam Hubbard (Jess Koehler), Griffin (Sarah) Naylor, Kiley Naylor, Brynne Naylor (Griffin Carroll), Avery Naylor, Ali Thompson, and G Thompson. Gma, as she was affectionately known by her grandkids, was thrilled to become a Great-Gma to Murphy Hubbard, Rory Guiffre, and Grace Naylor. She will be greatly missed by her sister and best friend Joan (Ken) Eve, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and her dear neighbors on Tollgate Lane to whom we will be forever grateful for the care, love and kindness shown over the years.
Janet graduated with honors from Our Lady of Angels High School in 1956 where she served as class president. She earned her teaching degree from Our Lady of Cincinnati (Edgecliff College) and taught at her grade school alma mater, St. Thomas Aquinas, in Avondale.
Janet devoted her life to her faith and family. She supported her husband's legal career as a longtime member and President of the Cincinnati Bar Association Auxiliary. She was a parishioner at All Saints Catholic Church for fifty-five years and a dedicated member of the church choir for more than four decades. She was very active in her children's and grandchildren's lives attending all games, activities, and performances of any kind. She was present at Grandparents' Day at All Saints School, where all nine of her grandchildren attended, for 21 straight years...never missing a single one! There was never a doubt as to Janet's number one priority in life...family.
She was "on-call" at all times for anything any of her children or grandchildren needed. "Grandma Days" every Wednesday provided such special childhood memories for her grandchildren and endless funny stories for all of us. While she was Gma to her nine grandchildren, she was affectionately referred to as "Grandma" by all of her grandkids' friends, who were blessed by her love, kindness and affection for all. Mom lived her life always putting others first. She provided an incredible example of how to live a humble and completely selfless life. She will forever be remembered for her generosity of spirit, and devotion to faith and family.
