In grief, the family informs that James Kent Stier, joined his wife Peggy (Farrell) of 62 years, peacefully in his sleep on September 17th, 2018 Loving father to six children, Vicki (David) Rodarte, Julie (Christopher) LaMothe of Indianapolis, Indiana, Frank X. Stier,(Laura Riley), Mary Lynne (Peter) Grimm, Larry G.(Brenda) Stier He also leaves behind his sister Julie Schuermann (Ken). He joins those family members who have gone before him, his son, David K. Stier, his parents, and his sisters Margaret McAndrews, Sr. Jane Stier, and Loretta Breetz, He was the loving grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was delivered into Gods hands at age 87. Kent was native to Cincinnati, after graduating from St. Xavier High School (48) he attended Notre Dame and graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy in 1952. Serving his country during the Korean War, discharged, he returned home and continued working at Stiers Pharmacy Inc., which he co-owned with his brother-in-law, Bill Breetz. The pharmacy started in 1907, served Clifton and surrounding area for decades. All told, he worked 55 years in one capacity or another at the pharmacy, making friends and cherished memories. Retiring in 1994, he and Peggy traveled extensively around the globe. His active social life was full of the many friends he cultivated along the way with his wit and genuine love of people. He enjoyed entertaining, sporting events, cards, and a well-placed joke. His sense of humor and contagious laugh brought a joy to our lives that will be sorely missed. We are celebrating his life at Good Shepherd Church, Symmes Township, on October 9th, 2018. Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. preceded by a visitation at 9:00 a.m. Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made in his name be sent to Bluegrass Hospice Care, 7388 Turfway Road, Florence, Kentucky 41042
