(To Be Announced)

Jim dedicated 58 years of his life to playing the organ at Catholic Mass, beginning at the age of fourteen. He grew up in St. Margaret of Cortona Parish, graduated from St. Xavier High School, and completed the prestigious A.B. Honors Classical Latin Program at Xavier University in just three years, a program that accepted only ten students annually at the time.

Around 1973, following the passage of Roe v. Wade, Jim began volunteering with Dr. Jack Wilke, becoming a fearless and unwavering advocate for the unborn and their mothers. According to Dr. Wilke, Jim testified before the Republican Platform Committee alongside a young single mother holding her child, who had been born at just 23 weeks and survived. It was through Jim’s powerful presentation that the Republican National Committee adopted its National Pro-Life Platform. Portions of this testimony were later carried on Walter Cronkite’s national network news.

Jim was also among the first voices in the nation to raise concerns about the dangers and corruption of computerized voting systems. His efforts led to a “60 Minutes” investigation into wiretapping, which aired in 1981.

In 1985, Jim was a principal driving force behind the founding of the Annual Pro-Life Rosary Procession in downtown Cincinnati, an event that has continued faithfully every year since.

Deeply devoted to the Blessed Mother, Jim was a fierce advocate of the Brown and Green Scapulars, often rushing to ensure they were given to those on their deathbeds.

He was always willing to engage in discussions about the faith which were often lively and interspersed with Jim’s humor. Many were inspired by his steadfast faith and convictions.

Jim was endorsed by the Cincinnati Right to Life Committee when he ran for Cincinnati City Council, becoming the first candidate to run as part of a five-person platform in an effort to secure a council majority. Though the effort was unsuccessful at the time, both major political parties later adopted this same approach.

He was also the founder of Shirt Scene in Madisonville, where he secured a significant account producing T-shirts featuring Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench, and Pete Rose, worn throughout Cincinnati during the era of the Big Red Machine.

Above all else, Jim will be remembered for his passion for truth, courage in standing up for the unborn, and his deep faith in God. His life was one that left an impact on many that will leave a legacy that will endure in everyone’s hearts forever.
