James Edward Baker, beloved husband of the late Ruth C. Baker (nee Lacko). Devoted father of Mary (Wardell) Coleman, Donald (Jeralyn) Baker, Robert (Teresa) Baker and Linda Baker. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Spencer, Ryley, Cameron, Carissa, Annie, Lindsay, Alex, and Evan. Dear brother of Mildred Brownd, Gene Baker and Gertrude Ferguson. Departed on July 17, 2015 at the age of 89. After serving in the Army during WWII, he graduated with an MBA from the University of Arkansas. He spent his career in the field of Finance and most notably was Chief Financial Officer for The Kroger Company in the 1970's. Outside of work he was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling the world over with his wife. More importantly he was dedicated to his children and grandchildren, ensuring they grew up knowing the importance of hard work, integrity and strong family bonds. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
