James P. Ahern, born January 12, 1926, died peacefully on August 10, 2009. Jim was a veteran of WW II. He is survived by his brother, Tom (Jane) Ahern, and was the proud uncle of 4 nieces and 2 nephews, and 16 great-nieces and nephews. He was the beloved son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Ahern, and a fond brother of the late Robert Ahern Jr., Jane Toon, and Mildred (Doe) Thackston. He was a member for 58 years (and former President) of Hyde Park Golf and Country Club. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, August 21 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 3105 Madison Rd., Oakley.
