Jafar Emami,
M.D.
November 17, 1939 – February 25, 2022
Dr. Emami was born on November 17th, 1939 to Nosrat & Ali Emami. He passed away on Friday February 25, 2022 at the age of 82, after a long battle with prostate cancer. A native of Iran, Dr. Emami graduated from University of Esfahan Medical Sciences with his medical degree in 1966. He then traveled to the United States and completed an internship at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Thereafter, he completed his Residency in Radiology and a Fellowship in Radiation Oncology at Temple University in 1977. He was a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology and Radiation Oncology.
Dr. Emami was eternally devoted to Efol, his loving wife of 55 years, his sons Bobby (Babak) and Nima, and his three grandchildren Anna Leila, Rose and Aiden. He also cherished his brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous family and close friends.
Dr. Emami was one of the main founders of the nonprofit Omid Cancer Center, where he personally and successfully treated many cancer patients. He has treated over thirty five thousand cancer patients in his 44 year medical career.
He was a passionate man with an unfailing commitment to his family, friends and patients. He will truly be missed by everyone.
Services honoring Dr. Emami will be held on Wednesday March 2, 2022 at 12pm at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 11000 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249. Followed by a private gathering at DeSha's restaurant located at 11340 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society in his name.
