Helen Ann Hennessey Werner, 83, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, with her children by her side. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio to William and Mary K Hennessey, she was the oldest of 5 children. Helen's proudest accomplishment was raising her 5 children; Michael (Amy), Karen Schreckenhofer (Jay), Matthew (Susan), Kevin (Kelly), and Molly Childs (Alex). She loved being grandmother to 18; Joe, Marc, Zach, Jake, Will, Charlie, Allison, Stephanie, Jack, Meg, Darby, Regan, Evan, Graham, Lauren, Nolan, Colby, and Bella, and great grandmother to 7; Mia, Maja, Maeve, Cameron, Madison, Charlotte, and Carter. Helen is also survived by her three sisters; Pat, Mary Jo (Bob), and Kathy (George). She was preceded in death by her brother, Tim.

A graduate of Regina High School (1960) and Good Samaritan College of Nursing (1963), Helen was known for her fiery personality and dedication to mentoring new nurses. Helen married Henry Werner and moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts from 1966-1980 where they grew their family. Helen moved back to Cincinnati in 1980 with her 5 children and returned to Good Samaritan Hospital where she finished her career as an OR nurse. Helen's retirement was filled with joy as she traveled and spent quality time with her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. Her greatest happiness came from being with her family. Helen will always be remembered for her kindness, her fierce independence, and deep love for her family. Her laughter and wisdom were gifts to everyone who knew her.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life at an open house on August 10, 2025, at the Little Miami Brewing Event Center, 310 Mill Street Milford, Ohio 45150, between 11am-2pm. Donations in Helen's honor may be made to the American Cancer Society .
