Obituary

Harry E. Warmbier, age 81 passed on July 15, 2005. Devoted husband to Dorothy (nee Pfile) Warmbier. Loving father of Harry Douglas Warmbier and Kay (Jack) Walker. Cherished grandfather of Angela Kay Warmbier, Allen E. Warmbier, and Andy Walker. Mr. Warmbier served as a Combat Medic in the armed forces during World War II. He joined the 7th Division during the fight in the Aleutian Islands. His outfit made the beachhead and fought the battle on Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands. Next, the 17th Infantry made the beachhead on Leyte where he was awarded the Bronze Star. The group moved on to make a beachhead on Okinawa where Mr. Warmbier earned the Purple Heart. Mr. Warmbier worked as a Pharmaceutical salesman for Dow Chemical Pharmaceutical Company, Merrill Dow, and Marion Merrill Dow, and Marion Merrill Dow retiring in 1993. A memorial service will be held at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7701 Kenwood Rd, on August 12, 2005 at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Voluntary Services, VA Hospital, 3200 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH 45220. Mr. Warmbier will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery near Washington, D.C.
