Harry L. "Smiley" Berning, age 86, passed away on January 23, 2016. He was the beloved husband of 53 years of Pat Berning (nee Spencer), loving father of Adrienne Kessling, Adam Berning (Jill), devoted grandfather of Chris and Ali Kessling, Adam Michael, Josh, Jake, Maria, David and Stephen Berning. Smiley was the caring brother of the late Harriette (John) Jackson, Mary Jo (David) Miller, the late Jack (Delores) Berning, Susan (Jerry) Hellman and the late Ginny (Wayne) Stephenson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of cherished friends. Visitation will be held at All Saints Catholic church, 8939 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45236 from 10:00 AM 12:00 PM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, January 27, 2016. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Cincinnati, P.O. Box 633597, Cincinnati, Ohio 45263-3597.
