Obituary

Hamilton Effendi Ramirez was born to Effendi Ramirez and Milagros Ruperto in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on January 26th, 1942. He was raised with a calling to serve. First in the U.S. Marines, stationed at the Panama Canal. Then became a Master Mechanic at a GM Dealership for 30 years, while working night shifts in the Maplewood, NJ Police Department , where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. Before moving to Cincinnati, OH to help raise his grandsons.

Hamilton was blessed to have had three families. The first began with his marriage to Carmen Valentin. They had one child – Jamiel. Then to Maria Cuervas. They had three children – Rick, Kenneth & Rose Marie Ramirez. During that time, he was very involved in the Boy Scouts of America along with his younger sons.

His final marriage was to his devoted wife of 23 years - Juana Taveras, joined by three step-children – Digna, Agustin (Sherri) & Cenona Taveras Beatty (Eric). From here came, his step-grandchild, Brittany Taveras and his grandsons – Joaquin & Javier Beatty. Teaching them how to be responsible young men, being handy around the house and his love for electronics was the highlight of his days.

Hamilton was kind, considerate, accommodating, and very charismatic,  He was known for his punctuality and sense of duty – insisting on being the first in line at the Summit Country Day carline– so the boys can see him as they exited the building after school each day.

He is survived by his wife, Juana, his step-children & grandchildren, his sister Milka Ramirez Witherite, and from his previous marriages, his children.
