Sandmann
August 13, 1938 – December 16, 2022
George J. Sandmann passed away on Friday December 16 at the age of 84. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Nancy Sandmann (nee Klein), parents Louis and Elizabeth and brothers Donald and Louis. He is survived by his children Ted, Craig, Laura, daughters-in-law Julie and Sarah, and grandchildren Morgan Sandmann Forbes (Mason), Josh, Nicholas, Nathan and Nolan. George grew up in Mt. Adams on the east side of Cincinnati the youngest of three brothers. He attended Purcell High School then later, Xavier University. George joined the United States Navy after high school and serving his country was one of the greatest sources of pride in his life. After leaving the Navy, he started his career in sales that ultimately led to the creation of his own business which he operated for 22 years. George married Nancy Klein on Derby Day 1967 and they were happily married for 51 years. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle and friend to all who knew him. He involved himself in church and community organizations throughout his life and was active in the Knights of Columbus, St Joseph Men's Society and Villa Hills Civic Club where he coached kids in baseball and soccer. He will be most remembered for his deep dedication to his family, faith and country; his love of John Wayne movies, Frank Sinatra albums and history; his sense of humor and stubborn resolve. We love you Dad; rest in peace. A visitation will precede a burial Mass on Wednesday, December 21st at 9 AM, at Immaculata Church located at 30 Guido St, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
