Frank Henry Winstel, Sr., 90, of Lebanon, Ohio died peacefully on October 12, 2022. Frank was born on September 15, 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Frank E and Gertrude (née Rohs) Winstel. He was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and worked many years as a mechanical engineer in the HVAC industry, many of those with his own company, Associated Engineering Products. Frank also served in the US Army as a First Lieutenant and was stationed in Thule, Greenland and Washington D.C. He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted first wife, Elaine Winstel (née Joseph) and his late second wife Dorothy Winstel (née Baird).

In his younger years, Frank enjoyed horses and spending his weekends on the Ohio River boating with friends. As he got older, Frank enjoyed growing African Violets and loved showing off his plants in African Violet shows winning many awards for his varieties he grew. He served as President of the African Violets Association of America in Cincinnati for many years. He also enjoyed breeding tropical fish winning many awards for his unique breeding of guppies and loved breeding Angel Fish. Frank was also an avid sports fan and loved watching Bengals, Reds, Bearcats and Buckeye events. His sharp wit and sense of humor will be sorely missed.

Frank, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, is survived by his daughters Cynthia (John) Gormly (née Winstel) and Deborah (John) Guentz (née Winstel), sons Frank (Doris) and John (Lynn) Winstel, grandchildren Jennifer Harkins (née Guentz), Stephen and Daniel Guentz, Chad Winstel, Paige Massa (née Winstel), Gracie McAuley (née Winstel), Scooter Winstel, Johnny, Jacob, Josh, Jasmine, Jason, Julieanna, Jillian, and Joselyn Gormly, and great grandchildren Theo and Mae Harkins.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery St. Mary Chapel, beginning at 12:30pm.
