Frances Whittaker, beloved wife of the late William J. (Bill) Whittaker, former president and CEO of Cincinnati Bell, passed away at her Hyde Park home on Tuesday, December 16. The former Indian Hill resident was 95. Mrs. Whittaker is survived by a daughter and son-in-law; Alison and Thomas Rink of Indian Hill, a son and daughter-in-law; John and Anna Whittaker of Vashon Island, WA, grandchildren; Brian Rink of Philadelphia, Collin and Hazel Rink of Madeira, great-granddaughters Morgan and Madeleine Rink and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Whittaker grew up in northern New Jersey. After attending New York University, she served as an officer of Beattie Manufacturing Company until her marriage in 1944. She and Mr. Whittaker moved to Indian Hill after he was transferred from AT&T New York to Cincinnati Bell. Mrs. Whittaker was active in the Cincinnati community, and served as a long term volunteer and Trustee of Cincinnati Nature Center, on the board of New Life for Girls, and as a volunteer at the Cincinnati Art Museum. She was a member of Camargo Club, the Bankers Club, the Indian Hill Garden Club and St. Gertrude Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gertrude Church, Madeira, on Saturday, December 20 at 10 AM with a reception following.
