IN LOVING MEMORY OF

F. Timothy

Leaman

March 7, 1943 – September 21, 2022

Obituary

Tim Leaman, father of Cari (Mike) Davis and Laura (Jason) Nanista died on September 21, 2022, at the age of 79. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, sister Pat (Howard) Basinger, 2 nieces, 1 nephew and 6 cousins. Tim was pre-deceased by his father Fred H. Leaman, his mother Dolores Leaman (nee Asimus), and 1 niece.

Born on March 7, 1943, Tim grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended St. Ursula Academy (Villa), Archbishop's Choir School '57, St. Xavier High School '61, Xavier University, and the University of Cincinnati. His occupations involved communications and sales with Cincinnati radio, The Enquirer, and the home improvement industry. He even started and ran a small business, Tim Leaman, Inc., which sold and installed siding, windows, and doors.

Tim sang in the adult choir, like his parents, and participated in the theatre program at Nativity Catholic Church in the 1990's. He enjoyed music and was an epicurean in his tastes for food and drink. Tim frequented establishments like Trio Bistro, Maggiano's Little Italy, and Sorrento's, sometimes even encouraging others to join him in karaoke. As a lively conversationalist Tim was articulate, amusing, politically opinionated and had a phenomenal memory. He loved animals, his cats Bea, Buddy, and Theodore to name a few, and was a friend to any stray cat that came along.

Tim owned his own house in Pleasant Ridge before health conditions, complicated by a genetic disorder called Stickler Syndrome, which necessitated his move to assisted living at Mercy (now, Aventura) West Park. Soon after his move, the COVID pandemic was declared. No doubt the lockdowns and inability to visit with people were difficult for him. This year brought the promise of more visits and the possibly of going out for dinner. However, in July he had a pulmonary embolism from which he never fully recovered.

Tim has given a unique gift of body donation to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. In the past, he has also requested that donations be made to the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation ( www.oif.org ), to help members of that community including one of his grandsons. Donations can also be made to Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center ( https://olhsc.org ) where Tim's children and grandchildren go for spiritual retreats, renewal, and refuge.
