Born in Scott County, Virginia to the late Clyde and Elsie Flanary Griffin on July 28, 1933. Stepped into Heaven to join our Heavenly Father surrounded by loving his family at Hospice of Cincinnati on Saturday, June 29, 2019Preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Margaret "Peggy" Griffin (née Maness). Those left to cherish his memory and example of loving Christ and loving people are Michael Dwayne Griffin (Pam), Timothy C. Griffin (Susie) of Kingsport, TN and Melody G. Hamilton (Trevor) of Cincinnati, OHDee was blessed with special people in his life from his brothers and sisters, nephews, nieces, cousins, wonderful sisters and brothers-in-law, friends, wonderful neighbors and dear Church families from Ohio, and VA to TN. One of his joys was being "Papaw" to 7 wonderful grandchildren (Justin, Matthew, Meagan, Stephanie, Jordan, Xander and Logan) and 7 great-grandchildren (Audrey, Laiden, Olivia, Oakley, Alonna, Aspen and Elijah) Celebration of Life service will be held in Virginia on Friday, July 5 with a Military Honors graveside service.
