Edwin Sidney Hunt (Sid) died January 18, 2015. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Iris Lilly Potter. Sidney was born in Niagara Falls, Canada, and lived there until joining the Canadian Navy in 1943 where he served in the South Pacific until 1945. When he returned home, he attended McMaster University where he studied Economics and graduated in 1948. In 1949, he married the love of his life, Iris Potter, and moved to Toronto where they worked for a few years before joining Procter and Gamble in 1952. He worked for P&G for 29 years in Canada, the US and Europe ending his career as a Director of International Finance. After retiring in 1981, Sidney embarked upon an academic career by attending the University of Cincinnati achieving his Masters then Ph.D in 1992. He co-authored two books on Medieval Business and was also an instructor for a while at UC. Sidney also served as Treasurer of United Cerebral Palsy and Treasurer of St. Thomas Episcopal Church Housing Corporation in Terrace Park, the church they attended for several years. Sidney loved learning and always kept up-to-date on current affairs. He also loved traveling, learning about different cultures, nature and birding and always felt fortunate to have lived a long, vigorous and productive life. Sidney was a wonderful, generous and loving husband to his wife, Iris, beloved brother to sister, Phyllis Mutch, and predeceased by sisters June Eidt and Lorraine Lethbridge and brother, Clifford Hunt (Barbara), and was a kind and benevolent uncle to many nieces and nephews and dear friend and colleague to many people around the world. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed for his kind and generous heart, great sense of humor and keen intellect. He valued his faith and all his friends there. A gathering of friends will be on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Seasons Courtyard, 7100 Dearwester.
