Douglas "Doug" Routt, 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 18, 2026, at his home.

Doug was born on November 14, 1958, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Lawrence and Jeannine Routt. From an early age, he was known for his strong work ethic, caring nature, and dedication to those he loved.

He graduated from Sycamore high school in 1977 and went on to further his education, earning a Bachelor's degree in Business from Ohio University. Doug worked with his father as a sales rep and in 1985 they began Sentry Door where he built a very successful business.

Doug married the love of his life, Julie Moss, on December 27,1985 in Cincinnati. Together they shared 40 years of marriage, building a wonderful life for their children.

Doug was an avid collector and loved spending time with family and friends. He loved playing golf, working on cars, scuba diving and vacationing with family and friends. He brought joy to those around him through his kindness, sense of humor, and generosity. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Doug is survived by his wife, Julie; his children, Andrew (Kelly) and Lisa Larson (Garrett); and his cherished grandchildren, Parker, Mason, and Olive, who brought him so much joy. He is also survived by his brother, Alan, and sisters, Gloria Beswick and Judy McCray.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on July 20, 2026 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Gilligan Funeral Home, 8225 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio. A Celebration of Doug's Life is being planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or Gentiva Hospice, 4010 Executive Park Dr #225, Cincinnati, OH, in Doug's memory.

Doug's legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
