Dorothy L. Spottz, (nee Fishlinger) Loving wife of the late Raymond M. Spottz. Died peacefully on October 29 in Cincinnati, Ohio with her family by her side. She was 87. Daughter of the late Walter and Lena Fishlinger and loving sister to Rowland, William, Woodrow, Walter and surviving brother Elmer. Incredible mother to Richard and partner Trisha and Ronald and wife Mika. Wonderful grandmother to Amy, Jamie, Eric, Jennifer, and Lauren Spottz and loving great-grandmother to Logan, Dylan, Alexi, Isabella, and Talon Walton. One of the last of a selfless generation. She gave so much and asked for so little. She enriched the lives of all who knew her. She is, and will be forever greatly loved and terribly missed. A Memorial gathering will be Monday, November 1st from 6:00 PM to 7 PM at Gilligan Funeral Home, 8225 Montgomery Rd. at Galbraith. As were her wishes, Mrs. Spottz will be cremated. A celebration of her life for friends and family will take place in the near future on her beloved Long Island. Her ashes will be buried aside her parents at Greenfield Cemetery, Hempstead. Family suggests in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in her name to the Ascension Lutheran Church, 145 Franklin Ave., Franklin Square, NY 11010.
