Dorothy (nee Horne), beloved wife of the late Millard "Chalk" Fry; loving mother of Dr. Chalk (Ann) and Willard; dear sister of Boyce (Virginia) and the late Jess (Ethel), Maxine, Wetzel, Norfe (Lillian), and Paul (Elizabeth). Loving grandmother of Chalk, Jr. "Chip" (Angela), Joseph (Amy) and Kelly (Christopher) Ross, great grandmother of 8, beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Cherished "Number 1 In-Mate" of The Lodge retirement community where she resided the past 7 years. Dorothy passed away very peacefully at The Lodge on April 22, 2012 at the age of 93. Her family was at her side. Dorothy was born in Cove Gap (Wayne County) WV in 1918. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Marshall College in 1953 in education; and her Master's degree from The Ohio State University in 1968. In 1953 she and her family moved to Columbus, Ohio where she specialized in teaching the hearing-impaired. After retiring from teaching in 1980, she moved to Winter Haven, FL where she resided before returning to Cincinnati, OH to be by her family in later years. She was a staunch supporter of acquiring an education and she loved to travel, garden, and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. At her request, there will be no public service or visitation. A private family service has been held. Interment is at The Union Cemetery in Columbus, OH.
