Dorothea Baumann (nee Wittekind), beloved wife of the late Bernard L. Baumann. Devoted mother of Margaret (Peggy) B. Robinson, William T. Baumann, Fr. Richard J. Baumann, S.J., Thomas G. Baumann, John Q. Baumann, Joseph E. Baumann and the late Bernard L. Baumann Jr. Dear sister of John Wittekind and the late Mary E. Wittekind. Loving grandmother of William D. Baumann and Lauren B. Hagin, Margaret B., John M., and Mary S. Robinson, Kathryn E. and John C. Baumann, Robert McClellan and Ryan C. Baumann. Great grandmother of Katherine B. Hagin and Elizabeth H. Hagin. November 27, 2004 at the age of 84. Visitation will be at the Gilligan Funeral Home, 2926 Woodburn Ave., Monday from 6-8 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 A.M. Tuesday at St. Frances Xavier Church (Downtown). Memorials may be made to the Jesuit Partnership or Jesuit International Missions 790 Clinton Springs Ave., Cincinnati, OH. 45229. Dorothea W. Baumann was a woman of faith Active in prayer groups, Sunday school By Daniel Harper, Enquirer staff writer MOUNT LOOKOUT - Dorothea W. Baumann dedicated her life to her faith and helping others. She gave motivational speeches and tutored students at Peebles Junior High School. She belonged to several Christian and Catholic prayer groups in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky and taught Sunday school at St. Mary's Church in Hyde Park. 'We will remember our mother for her love and devotion to her family, but even more for her love and devotion to God. She supported us in all our endeavors and was an inspiration in our spiritual lives,' said her son, William Baumann of Los Angeles. Mrs. Baumann died Saturday at the Dupree Community in Hyde Park. She was 84. She graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1938 and from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in 1940. She married Bernard L. Baumann in 1941. The longtime resident of Mount Lookout and Hyde Park was a member of Christ the King Church in Mount Lookout and St. Mary's. Mrs. Baumann also participated in activities at Full Gospel Assembly of God in Newport, and was a member with the congregational community of the Assumption Church in Walnut Hills. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed outdoor activities. She also collected antiques and enjoyed traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard, and a son, Bernard. In addition to William, survivors include other sons Joseph of Los Angeles, Friar Richard of Harare, Zimbabwe, Thomas of Westwood and John of Montgomery; a daughter, Margaret B. Robinson of Indian Hill; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Gilligan Funeral Home, 2926 Woodburn Ave., East Walnut Hills. A Mass of Christian burial will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Church, 607 Sycamore St., downtown.
