Donna Larson Kent, age 87, passed away peacefully in her home in Loveland, OH on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Born April 25, 1928 in Minneapolis, MN to Josephine and C. Adolph Larson she attended the Minneapolis School of Art and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelors degree in design. Upon graduation she took a position with the Strutwear garment company where she rose to be head designer. After five years she went to New York City to work for Vanity Fair. Splitting her time between New York City and the Vanity Fair home office in Reading, PA she became one of their most successful lingerie designers. An avid skier, Donna was a founding member of the Fly Dutchman Ski Club in Reading, PA. Donna married Gregory "Greg" C. Kent on February 28, 1960. Having left her position with Vanity Fair she remained active in art operating a design studio and working in costume design for local theaters and museums. In 1972, Donna and her family moved to Duluth, MN. While raising two sons, she continued her pursuit of art joining the Friends of Tweed (a group to support the Tweed Gallery of Art at the Univ. of Minn. Duluth) and serving as chair person of the museums docent program for several years. She also began water color painting with frequent participation in courses, workshops and painting retreats. Donna loved the great outdoors of northern Minnesota and enjoyed alpine skiing, crosscountry skiing, hiking, sailing on Lake Superior and camping in the BWCA. In 1982, she and her family moved to Loveland, OH where she joined the Cincinnati Art Club and continued her painting. In retirement, Donna and Greg enjoyed attending the theater, concerts and frequent travels to Europe. Donna is survived by her husband Greg, son Greg Jr. and wife Brigitta, son Chris and his wife Debra and grand children Gregory, Alexander, Nicolas, Larson and Brody. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20 between 3:00 and 5:00 at the Gilligan Funeral Home, 8225 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45236.
