Donald J.Thomas, age 76 of Madeira, passed away from cancer on July 24, 2004 at Hospice of Cincinnati. Born July 11, 1928 to Charles L. and Nellie V. Thomas, Brazil, Indiana. Very beloved husband to both Rebecca (Clemmer) Thomas and his first wife, the late Melba (Openbrier) Thomas. Loving father to Charles (Gretchen) Thomas, Holly Thomas, Robin (Andrew) Porter and stepfather to Elizabeth (Kolia) Lutow and Catherine (Erik) Kreinbring. Devoted grandfather to Chase and Chelsea Thomas, Zachary and Nicholas Kreinbring, and Julia and Kate Lutow. Survived by his brother, Eugene (Marge) Thomas and sister, Eva Jane Courtney along with many nieces and nephews. A 1951 graduate of Indiana University, Don worked in several accounting and finance positions within the meat industry until his retirement as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Kahn's in 1990. A memorial service celebrating his life is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28th at Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church. Family will greet friends in the church parlor at 4:30 p.m. until time of the service. A private burial will precede the service at Oak Hills Cemetery, Springdale.
