Donald Alan Molloy, a resident of Montgomery, Ohio, has died at age 82. He was a success as a father and husband. Among his accomplishments are a 52-year marriage to Joyce and the raising of five children. Christine Carey (Ralph), Kathy Sebastian (Sam), sons: David (Sherry), Dan (Barb) and Jim (Laurie) Molloy, eighteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive him. He was the brother of Thomas, William, Edmund, and Kathleen (Geoppinger). Born in Cincinnati in 1934 to Edward and Marie Molloy. He was raised in Cincinnati, A graduate of Purcell High School. He later studied Business Administration at the University of Cincinnati. He served two years of active duty in the U.S. Navy at Tripler Army Hospital Hawaii. For more than 40 years he served as the third generation president of Molloy Roofing where his wife Joyce worked as secretary and treasurer. Don's son David is now the fourth generation of the Molloy family to lead Molloy Roofing. Golf was a lifelong hobby he pursued year-round. He was a founding member of O'Bannon Creek Golf Club in Loveland, which is celebrating its 40th year in 2016. As avid travelers, Don and Joyce explored the United States, Europe, Mexico and China. For nearly 20 summers Don and his co-pilot Joyce made dozens of memorable RV trips with their grandchildren on board. Following retirement Don and Joyce took up the hobby of kayaking the waterways of Florida. Don will be remembered as a fun-loving and selfless husband, father, grandfather and friend of unquestionable faith and character. All valued his integrity, commitment and sound counsel. His strength of character will be his greatest legacy and life lesson. A visitation will be held at the Gilligan Funeral Home, 8225 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati on Thursday, December 29th from 5 to 8pm. A funeral Mass will be held December 30th at 10:30am at All Saints Church in Montgomery. Interment will be at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Montgomery.
