Obituary

David Alan Wakefield of Madeira, passed away October 27, 2013. Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Sledz), father of Sandra (Bradley) Meilink and Craig, grandfather of Kurtis and Christin Meilink. Was an Eagle Scout. Received a B.S. and M.S. degree in Botany from Miami University and a M.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. Retired after 40 years from General Electric Aircraft Engines. Loved to spend his time sailing, playing bridge, watching the Cincinnati Reds, and attending performances of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. With his wife of 58 years, he traveled extensively throughout the world, but loved returning yearly to the tranquility of Longboat Key, Florida. Active in the Presbytery of Cincinnati, he was a Ruling Elder at the Madeira Silverwood Presbyterian Church, where visitation will be held from 10:00AM until the Service at 11:00AM on Friday, November 1, 2013. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Gift of Music Fund, 1241 Elm St., Cinti OH 45202.
