David D. Duckworth, age 58, of Cincinnati, passed away suddenly, August 1, 2018. Born to Carolyn (nee Thornton) Duckworth and Don Duckworth on June 17, 1960, in Lexington, Kentucky. David graduated from Dixie Heights High School and received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Northern Kentucky University. David was an avid golfer and longtime member of The Oasis Golf Club in Loveland, Ohio. He cherished his many friends there and especially loved his Friday Game that he organized for years. He was proud of his Lexington roots and always said he bleeds blue. He had a knack for all things trivia and was always the first to laugh at his own (bad) jokes. He was especially proud of the McGing Irish Dancers and the Cincinnati Irish Cultural Society where he served on the board of the CICS, was a stage builder extraordinaire for the Cincinnati Feis and the official maypole holder in the St. Patricks Day Parade. He will truly be remembered for his welcoming spirit, his intelligence, and his infectious personality. There wasnt a person that Dave met who he couldnt converse with! He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years Mary (nee McGing) and children Madeline and Declan Duckworth, his mother Carolyn Duckworth, brothers Kent and Don (Leigh) Duckworth, brothers-in-law Michael McGing (Diana), Austin McGing and his special buddy Jim McGing as well as his nieces Sarah Rowland (Phillip), Megan McGing, Emily Hickerson (Jeff) & Ellen Duckworth, and his nephews Sean McGing, Evan Duckworth, John Duckworth & Mac Duckworth as well as his grandniece Charlotte Hickerson. Preceded in death by his daughter Christian and father Don. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 5th from 5-8 pm at Gilligan Funeral Home on 8225 Montgomery Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 6th at 10:00 am at St Margaret of York Catholic Church on 9499 Columbia Road.
