Mrs. Darlene Windes, age 86, of Cincinnati Ohio formerly of Herndon, and Hopkinsville, KY passed away 7:20 AM Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in Cincinnati, Ohio of natural causes. Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 4, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church, 303 E 9th St, Hopkinsville, KY 42240, with Dr. Anthony Barta officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Friday, June 3, 2011 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, 700 Country Club Ln., Hopkinsville, KY 42240. Mrs. Windes was born September 16, 1924 in Milltown, Indiana the daughter of the late Perley E. and Sarah Watts Cates. She was a nurse, homemaker, and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Hopkinsville, KY. Darlene was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Tendian, and son-in-law J.D. Stahl. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, William (Billy) Windes of Cincinnati, OH; a son, Larry (Lois) Windes of Kingsport, TN; two daughters, Sarah Windes of Blacksburg, VA, and Nancy (Sam Swanson) Windes of Cincinnati, OH; son-in-law Sonny Tendian of Chicago, IL; eight grandchildren, Emily, Amanda, Peter, and Andrew Windes, Eric and Clare Tendian, Daniel and Hans Stahl. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to either: Norton Healthcare Foundation for the Norton Neuroscience Institute (Cressman Parkinson's Center or Leatherman SpineCenter), or Presbyterian Women Foreign Missions, in care of First Presbyterian Church, 303 East 9th St., Hopkinsville, KY, 42240
