Daniel "Danny" George Taggart, July 9, 1924 - June 19, 2014, of Lauderdale By The Sea, FL; formerly of Cincinnati, OH and Birmingham, MI. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Ann (Smith). Loving father of Debbie Benedict (Ron) of Lebanon OH, Patricia Taggart and Jan Taggart Heidel (Keith), both of Birmingham MI. Grandfather of Kristy Taggart Heidel of Chicago IL, and Katie Heidel Romant (Andrew) of Birmingham MI. Loving brother of James Taggart of Cincinnati OH and the late Elizabeth Schneider. Danny served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, including Normandy, Sicily, Okinawa, and the Philippines. Graduate of Xavier University and employed by Ford Motor Company for 30 years both in Cincinnati and Detroit as a Purchasing Manager. After retiring from Ford, Dan had a successful career as a sales representative in the Detroit area for several automotive suppliers. Danny was an avid golfer and member at Western Golf & Country Club and Bay Pointe Golf Club. Dan loved spending time at his home in Lauderdale By The Sea, FL. He was captivated by his view of the Atlantic Ocean and found great pleasure in exercise and walking. He also volunteered at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI and Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL where he enjoyed interacting with the patients. Dan was a member of St. Regis Catholic Church in Bloomfield Hills, MI. A private Mass was held at Holy Cross Immaculata Catholic Church in Cincinnati.
