Daniel H. Schoettelkotte, age 75 of Ft. Washington, Maryland, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Capital Caring, Halquist Memorial Inpatient Center, a Hospice Center in Arlington, Virginia. He was born August 1, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Albert W. and Virginia (Stoeckl) Schoettelkotte. Daniel was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth E. and brother-in-law Harold "Hal" Baker. He is survived by his sister Alice V. Schoettelkotte, a Sister of the Precious Blood and by his brother Lawrence A. Schoettelkotte, a Marianist priest known to most as Father Larry. Though he never married, Dan leaves behind his niece, Bonnie (Baker) Mattson and nephew, Brian Baker; both of Hammond, Indiana plus nephew, Harold "Buddy" Baker of Chester, Virginia as well as his great nieces and nephews, Shannon, Christopher, Abbie, Shaun, Lindsay, and Emma. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 4th at 11:30 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am all at All Saints Church, 8939 Montgomery Rd., with Fr. Larry Schoettelkotte officiating. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Sisters of the Precious Blood, 4000 Denlinger Road, Dayton, OH 45426-2399 or to The Marianists Province of the United States, 4425 West Pine Blvd., St. Louis MO 63108-2301.
