Obituary

Cindy Mae Hurley (Dean), 59, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home on October 13th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of fierce love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.

She is survived by her three daughters, each a reflection of her strength and spirit: Seclia Steward (David) of Connersville, Indiana; Amanda Jones of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Natasha Hurley (Kate) of Cincinnati, Ohio. Her heart beat strongest for her ten grandchildren—Donavon, Caleb, Ethan, Kayden Elianna, David, and Abel, Isaiah, Cameron and Neveah —who knew her not just as Grandma (mamaw) but as their greatest champion, their safe place, their joy.

Cindy's roots ran deep. She is also survived by her father and stepmother, Ron and Susan Dean of Cleves, Ohio; her sisters Sheryl, Tracey, Shannon, and Rachel; her brothers Ronnie, Manny, Jerry, Chad, and Donnie; also her best friend/sister of 49 years Tina Merida as well as wide circle of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends who felt her love like sunlight—warm, constant, and impossible to forget.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William "Tussel" Hurley, whose memory she carried like a flame; her mother, Frances Jones; her niece, Jordyn Relthford; and both sets of grandparents, whose stories she passed down with reverence.

To know Cindy was to be drawn into her orbit. She was magnetic—beautiful, sharp-witted, and unapologetically herself. She lit up every room she entered, often with a joke, a dance, or a story that left you laughing long after she'd walked away. But beneath the sparkle was a depth few could match: she was a giver, a healer, a woman who would drop everything to help someone in need.

Motherhood was her masterpiece. Grandmotherhood, her crown. She poured herself into those roles with a devotion that shaped generations. Her love was not quiet—it was loud, proud, and fiercely protective. She nurtured with instinct, led with heart, and gave without condition.

Cindy was a mother, grandmother, daughter, an aunt, a sister, a friend. She was a rare one—unrepeatable, unforgettable.
