IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christina N.
Penman
July 15, 1929 – December 1, 2022
Christina Nora Penman née Blyth died peacefully on December 1 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born on July 15, 1929 in Edinburgh, Scotland, to her beloved parents, Arthur and Christina Blyth. She married Robert Penman in 1950 while he was a young medical student at the University of Edinburgh and she was a nursing student. Christina and Robert lived in Scotland, England and Northern Ireland, as well as a year in Baltimore, before emigrating to the United States in 1966. They lived in Lexington Kentucky, Cincinnati Ohio, Naples Florida and Beaufort South Carolina. Through all these moves Christina and Robert retained their love for Scotland and the extensive family there. They returned to Edinburgh frequently. Christina made dear lifelong friends in all their travels and those were a great source of happiness to her. She had many interests including travel, art, opera, Scottish music and history. Christina's greatest joy was her large family. Christina was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of sixty-four years, and dear brother Jack Blyth. She is survived by her four children: Diana (Gordon) Dill, Fiona (Scott) Ehrnschwender, David (Leanne) Penman, Susan Mitchell, and their families. She leaves eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was the proud and devoted matriarch of this large clan and was dearly loved and cherished by friends and family alike. She will be greatly missed.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army in Christina's honor.
