Charles F. Hertlein, age 91, passed away peacefully on August 22nd, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born July 27, 1932, in Cincinnati, son of the late Clarence and Verna Hertlein. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Marilyn Hertlein (nee Thul), along with their five sons, Charles F. Hertlein, Jr. (Katherine); Richard A. Hertlein (Denice); Thomas P. Hertlein (Laura); David R. Hertlein (Therese); and Robert P. Hertlein (Mary Jo), and by his brother Robert C. Hertlein (Janet), all of Cincinnati. He was a beloved grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Charles was a graduate of Purcell High School and the University of Cincinnati. After graduating from UC he married the love of his life, Marilyn Thul on October 2, 1954. Charles began his career with Central Trust Bank before moving into sales with the Armstrong Stationery Company, eventually rising to be its President.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Katherine Clawson.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, August 27 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Gilligan Funeral Home, 8225 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 28 at 10:30 am at All Saints Church, 8939 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45236. A private interment will be held later at Spring Grove Cemetery.
