IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carole R.
Demetrion
January 9, 1932 – January 17, 2022
Carole Rose Demetrion, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother was born on January 9, 1932 in Cambridge, Massachusetts and passed away peacefully on January 17, 2022.
Carole was one of five children born to the late Nicholas and Anastasia Denison. Her father was a grocery store owner and mother a homemaker in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She had so many fond memories growing up in Cambridge with both her siblings and first husband, Paul.
Carole and Paul moved to Cincinnati with their first child, Nicholas, residing close to her sister Helen (Peter). Thereafter, she had her second child, Pamela, and made Cincinnati home for the rest of her life. In 1962, her husband passed away, leaving her widowed with two children. During this time, Carole devoted her time to raising her children and volunteering for various social groups at the Holy Trinity St. Nicholas Church and around the city. She married her second husband, Jim Demetrion, who remained together for fifty-two years until her passing. Carole was a passionate philanthropist and loved cooking, singing (a chorister throughout her life and at the Church), entertaining/hosting guests, and spending valuable time with her family and grandchildren (having been present for all of their milestones). She especially enjoyed running the Kafenion (Greek café) for the Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church festival for many years.
She is survived by: her loving husband Jim; daughter, Pamela Bayyari (Mamoun); two grandchildren, Fadil (Sana'a) and Nadia Bayyari; and one great granddaughter, Yara. She's predeceased by her late husband, Paul Bogis, and son, Nicholas Bogis. She was the last surviving sibling, in a family of three brothers and two sisters: George (Electra) Denison, Helen (Peter) Belitsos, Peter (Marge) Denison and John (Theda) Denison. She is survived by so many wonderful nephews and nieces.
