Obituary

Carl S. Beinke, affectionately known as "Pop", died at Hospice of Cincinnati on Sunday, October 20.

Pop was born on November 23, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Fred (Fritz) Beinke, Sr. and Maria (Daus) Beinke.

At an early age, he became a member of the Cincinnati Viking Club, where he ultimately established a lifelong membership and myriads of fond memories.

After graduating from Batavia High School, he served in the U.S. Army. After completing his time in the Army, he went to Xavier University where he got a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

On August 30, 1958, he married the love of his life, Bernice Kempe at St. Elizabeth Church in Norwood, OH.

Pop worked for 5 years at Fifth Third Bank as a Tax Consultant and later for 27 years at Blue Cross Blue Shield and "climbed the ranks" to ultimately become a Senior Statistical Programmer.

Additionally, one of his favorite yearly activities was working at the St. Saviour festival grocery and stuffed animal booths. His commitment to St. Saviour continued throughout the decades as an usher at Mass.

While he was always coaching on the sidelines of his children's sporting events, his true joy was when he had the opportunity to coach his three daughters on the same softball team.

An avid bowler, he owned several bowling balls, and notably bowled a "299" just one pin short of a perfect game. He was also a member of the "700 club".

Additionally, Pop was a musician, known for his unique talent with the accordion.

After retirement, he worked as a gardener, cutting and maintaining yards and gardens and catching moles.

Pop was lonely after his beloved wife of 42 years passed away. For the next 24 years without Bernice, he chose to live his life for his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Pop was a devoted family man and a proud dog owner, cherishing his time with his dog and sidekick, Kate. His passion for gardening shone through his growing of pumpkins, tomatoes, and most notably when he won a Best of Show ribbon at the Clermont County Fair for his stunning yellow dahlia.

He loved competing in corn hole and enjoyed playing board and card games, always seeking fun and friendly competition.

Pop loved the Lord and loved to pray. He had a personal relationship with Jesus and spoke to Him daily.

Everyone that ever met Pop would say he was kind, compassionate, thoughtful and wise. He was willing to give you the shirt off of his back. He was encouraging and uplifting to those around him. He always had a smile on his face or a funny comment to make.

We will all miss Pop more than words can describe!

Pop is survived by his children - Marty (husband George M.), Patty (husband George P.), Joe (wife Paula), Betsy (husband Brian), John (wife Carla), his grandchildren - Olivia (husband Ben), Matthew (wife Kelsey), Marie (husband Stephen), Michelle (husband Sebastian), Daniel (wife Cara), Gloria (husband Kyle), Hannah (husband Sam), Stephanie, John Henry (wife Chloe), Alison, Grace (husband Josh), Maggie (fiancé Lauryn), Faith, Katherine (husband Nick), Andrea, Ann, Sara, Elizabeth, David, Teresa, and Dominic, and his great grandchildren - Michael, Isaiah, Rose, Eliana, Veronica, Aria, Joshua, Ezra, Sophia, Joseph, Zachary, Alexander, Nathan, Gianna, Juliet, foster great grandchild, as well as 3 additional great grandchildren on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred Sr. and Maria, his brother Fred Jr. and the love of his life, his wife Bernice.
