Billie Sue Spitz, (nee Aldridge), beloved wife of the late William Waldo Spitz, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Randall Residence in Tipp City, Ohio with family at her side.

Born on October 6, 1929, to the late Harry and Mildred Aldridge, she started life in a small wooden house by a coal road in West Frankfort, Illinois. Later the family moved back to Ohio and settled in the country on Route 4 outside of Osborn. Growing up, Billie loved sports and especially softball where she was a catcher and lead-off hitter. She was also a cheerleader at Bath High School in Fairborn where she met her husband, Bill. Continuing her love of sports, in 1953 she proudly graduated with a degree in Physical Education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Later, she moved to Jolain Drive in Cincinnati, Ohio where she resided most of her life. Balancing a career and family, Billie taught Physical Education at Maple Dale Elementary in the Sycamore School District for over twenty years; she was a very creative and passionate teacher who made a difference in the lives of her students who loved her. After retiring from teaching, Billie loved to volunteer at the Cincinnati Zoo with CREW and the horticulture department. Tending her garden and feeding the wild birds gave her much pleasure as well as traveling and exploring different cultures and befriending people throughout the world with her husband Bill.

Billie is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Kameroski and son-in-law Peter Kameroski of Pennsylvania and son, Robert Spitz and friend, William Zvarick of Maryland; grandchildren, Kati Thomas Kameroski and husband Jason Thomas, North Carolina, Alexander Kameroski and Lukas Kameroski, Pennsylvania. Great grandchildren, Evelyn Kameroski Sykes and Maxwell Kameroski of North Carolina; Sister, Judy Hartman and cousin Bettyann Walker of Ohio, and various nieces and nephews including Barb and Dan Daly and Beth and Gregory Hoekzema from Ohio, Michael Zeller from Oregon, Rod Guedel, Kentucky, Debbie Stroble, Ohio, Terry Brown, Tom Standin, and Jan Ruiz, Connecticut, as well as many wonderful great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Joanne Standin, Imogene Bayless, Donna Zeller, and her brother Jay Aldridge, as well as her sister-in-law Phyllis (Petie) Eckel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cincinnati Zoo or the Hospice of Miami County.
