Betty Jean Meale (née Grooms), born May 10, 1932, in West Union, OH, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Drexel Grooms; sisters, Helen and Shirley; husband, Gene Meale; grandson, Ryan Meranda; and son, Stephen Meranda. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Wilson, and grandchildren, Lauren Meranda-Spalvis (Jake) and Makayla Cornett.

Betty often shared fond memories of her childhood in West Union. While working at GE Evendale, she met her husband, Gene, and they shared 38 wonderful years together. Gene's family hailed from Fossalto, Italy, and Betty embraced their traditions, learning to prepare authentic Italian dishes from her mother-in-law.

Betty enjoyed her time as a homemaker, caring for her family and creating a warm, loving home. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose wisdom, love, and light touched everyone around her. She will be deeply missed.
