Bertha Mae "MalMal" Harnist, 97, of Cincinnati Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2019. She has gone home to our Lord to join her husband George Harnist, her beloved son Danny C. Smith and several family and friends. She is survived by her sister and best friend, Clara Henderson, and her Stepson, George Edward Harnist. Loving grandmother to Kimberly Smith, Sheri Doty, Michelle (Michael) Ramsay, Danielle (Seth) Reynolds and Mique (Brian) Tatman. MalMal is survived by 17 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bertha leaves behind many dear family members and friends. Bertha worked most of her life as a homemaker, wife and mother. She loved quilting, baking, gardening and attending her church of 41 years.Visitation will be on Monday, November 4 from 10:00 am until Funeral Service at 12:00 PM, to be held at Mission Baptist Church, 7595 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45236, officiated by Reverend Bill Rains. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45249. A reception will follow burial at Mission Baptist Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Bertha.
